A kart racing game for 32blit... and through 32blit-sdk magic, the PicoSystem and most platforms supported by SDL! (Emscripten being my favourite SDL backend for totally unbiased reasons...)

Currently has two playable tracks and two palette swaps of the same character. More content is uh, TODO.

(Maybe I'd finish a game if I spend more time working on the game than the things it's built on)

Controls:

  • DPAD/Joystick left/right: steering
  • A: select (menus) / accelerate
  • B: back (menus) / brake / reverse
  • X: Use item
  • MENU: open menu

Keyboard mapping:

  • WASD/arrow keys: DPAD
  • Z/U: A
  • X/I: B
  • C/O: X
  • V/P: Y
  • Esc/1: Menu

Why wont the a button work for the menu?

Hmm, it should… I guess there are things that could go wrong there…

Game doesn’t even seem to load right now though.

… unless you’ve downloaded the picosystem version, where I think I ran out of buttons.

What did you use to make this game?

32blit SDK, Tiled + Aseprite for the maps + map tiles, Blender and I think GIMP for the kart sprites.
